I associate Norwegian common food being based around lamb and salmon
Sweden being beef, herring and anchovies and other various smallfish from the Baltic
Danish is pork and plaice
Anonymous Norway No.211809424 [Report]

Somewhat accurate, though the lamb stuff is more of a regionalism most common to the west coast. Also, cod, pollock, herring and possibly even mackerel would be more popular than salmon in "traditional" Norwegian cuisine. Also lots of shellfish of course.

rice is just newer filling option to it. Rice used to be sort of fancy barley, barley grows here but rice doesnt so you had to have money to buy rice so rice was a special thing. That is why in christmas people eat rice porridge instead of barley porridge.

You can fill it with potatoes, barley...etc..

Did you know that Finns grow 80% of the things we eat? Finland isnt that cold

In the case of tomatoes and peppers they've been cooked in innovative ways along with other ingredients that native American never had which is why Mediterranean cuisine is unique.

What grows in Finnland exactly? I'm sorry if at first it may sound like a stupid question but your country is so unknown , far away from mine and so foreign, I admit I've done no research but the image I have of Finnland in my mind is that nothing but grass grows there and you import most your food, I have studied botany, vegetal physiology and biology for two years in university so I have a little interest in the subject, what crops do you farm in Finnland?

you should ask what doesnt grow in Finland
rice, some varities of wheat, soy, bananas, citruses, lemons etc. dont grow here but you can grow cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, potatoes, wheat, barley, oat, carrots....

oh yeah sweet potatoes dont grow here either. The problem usually is that Finnish summer is too short, its not a heat problem, its just too short so things that grow for a long time typically dont do well

what you see in that video is Lapland, particually areas where almost no one lives and has lived
yeah well that place is a tourist trap anyway and tourists are kinda annoying there as well, they throw trash around, act like its a theme park etc. Its kinda soulless rich tourism honestly and I would honestly ban it if I had a choice

it doesnt even employ Finns that well since the companies want cheap labour and since the tourists dont speak Finnish anyway they just import some cheap third world labour

you are free to do whatever. Ordinary people dont have any power over you anyway. You are protected class in Finland as a brown person.
