I woke up in a building on a street like this. There was a hideous old Hungarian-style building visible from the balcony and the air was noticeably polluted.
I would go outside and see the locals. They were tall but darker in complexion with hooked noses. I was waiting for a tram and there was this gypsy-looking guy with NDH and nazi tattoos which I found very peculiar. The trams, however, are filled with south asians to various degrees, sometimes they were the only passengers. As I stepped outside I walked past garbage containers overflowing with mixed waste, seemingly merging with the litter on the sidewalk. Many old buildings looked damaged and had scaffolding.
A group of teens was waiting for a tram at one of the stations. I expected their speech to resemble the northern dialects but what I heard was screaming in accents identical to those I hear at my local čevapćinica.
I had reached the main bus station and was making my way to my platform when the gypsy lady started to call out for me. Luckily I knew how to act and she was far so I just pretended to be a foreigner that doesn't understand her slavic language of an eastern variety.
I entered my bus and departed from the city.

Most of Zagreb was built by Austrians or Austrian architects. We only built a few buildings and you can tell they look a bit out of place there
