here's all the countries who have occupied your country

1. **Great Moravia** (9th Century): Briefly controlled parts of what would become Poland, primarily through influence and vassalage, before the rise of the Piast dynasty. This is often considered a
precursor to Polish statehood.

2. **Bohemia** (10th-11th Centuries): Bohemian rulers exerted some control over parts of Silesia and Lesser Poland.

3. **Holy Roman Empire** (Various Periods, 10th - 19th Centuries): This is complicated. The Polish kingdom had a complex relationship with the HRE. At times Poland was *within* the HRE (early Piast
rulers), at times independent but a major power *alongside* it. Over centuries, the HRE (and later Austria within it) exerted influence, particularly over regions like Silesia, and directly controlled
parts of Poland for extended periods (see Austria-Hungary below).

4. **Mongol Empire / Golden Horde** (13th Century): Poland was raided and subjected to tribute by the Mongols, though they didn't establish long-term direct rule over the *entire* country. They heavily
influenced Polish political and military development.

5. **Kingdom of Bohemia** (14th-15th Centuries): Briefly controlled parts of Poland through personal unions and dynastic arrangements.

6. **Teutonic Knights / Prussia** (13th-18th Centuries): A major force, especially in northern Poland (Prussia, Pomerania). They controlled significant territory through conquest and the establishment of
a monastic state. This eventually evolved into the Kingdom of Prussia.

7. **Kingdom of Hungary** (14th-16th Centuries): Controlled parts of Lesser Poland and Red Ruthenia (south-eastern Poland) for periods, particularly during the Jagiellonian dynasty (when Poland and
Hungary were in personal union).

6/18/2025, 1:57:12 AM No.211847849
8. **Sweden** (17th-18th Centuries) โ€“ Known as "The Swedish Deluge" and other conflicts. Sweden occupied and controlled significant parts of Poland, particularly during the 17th and early 18th centuries.
This included major cities like Warsaw and Krakรณw. Their influence was devastating.

9. **Russia** (18th-20th Centuries): Russia became a dominant power in Poland, especially after the Partitions of Poland. They controlled large swathes of Polish territory for over a century, and imposed
heavy Russification policies.

10. **Prussia / Germany** (18th-20th Centuries): Prussia was one of the powers that partitioned Poland in the late 18th century. Later, as part of the German Empire, it continued to control significant
Polish territories. German policies under both empires were aimed at suppressing Polish culture and identity.

11. **Austria / Austria-Hungary** (18th-20th Centuries): Austria was another partitioning power. Galicia (southern Poland) was under Austrian rule for a long time, becoming a center of Polish culture due
to the relative tolerance compared to Russia and Prussia.

12. **Napoleon's France** (19th Century - briefly): While not a long-term occupation, Napoleon established the Duchy of Warsaw, a French protectorate, which encompassed parts of partitioned Poland. This
was a brief period of independence under French control.

13. **Soviet Union** (1939-1941, 1944-1989): The Soviet Union occupied eastern Poland in 1939 as part of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. After WWII, Poland became a satellite state of the Soviet Union,
heavily influenced and controlled politically, economically, and militarily. This period lasted until the fall of communism in 1989.

14. **Nazi Germany** (1939-1945): Following the invasion of Poland in 1939, Nazi Germany occupied the entire country. This was a brutal occupation characterized by genocide, mass murder, and systematic
oppression.

Not really no, Cyrillic polish is extremely hard to read. They need new made up letters for unique sounds. Ukranian is very similar when it comes to grammar but it's suitable for Cyrillic because they use the same sounding words completely differently. So either Poland needs to change their words or use made up letters which both is inconvenient.

Because our spelling was finally established in 16th century when German printers started coming here and printing books in Polish with the only available set of Latin letters without signs for specific Slavic sounds, so they used digraphs for them. And since our spelling hasn't been modernized ever since (we did not have 'national revival' in 19th century like most Slavs, because we never needed to revive our national culture, as it was always strong), it might look a bit weird to outsiders today. Hungary has the same problem, btw.

Anyway, how does it even matter, it's not like anyone is gonna learn Polish and Polish itself will disappear within 2 generations max, given the pace of popularization of interethnic relationships here and the fact that our zoomers already speak Filipino-tier slang with one phrase in Polish and one in English, not even adjusting it for the Polish inflection and declension system. Just 2 days ago I heard two zoomers talking like
