What's even the point going to South Europe as a tourist or an expat? If you want some actually civilised place, go to a Germanic country, the prices aren't really mich easier. If you want a hot cheap resort, go literally anywhere in the third world, from Africa to South America. Why would anybody choose the Mediterranean? I don't get it.

I'd say if these people have an issue with over tourism they need to focus their attention internally. Places like Italy don't have issues with it because they don't bend over backwards to make tourism easy like Spain does
