Yeah, I'm with you. I won't get married legally, but I'd be fine doing a celebration, and moving in together, and having a family. I just ain't fixin' to get divorce raped, so we can keep the law and government out of it. My gf said she'd be fine with that as long as we can still do the rings and a ceremony, but I can tell it still upsets her that I won't do it officially, but it is a redline for me. what for? i can't think of even one advantage of getting married, the only semi-advantage here is that there are tax reliefs for married couples but that only works if one spouse is unemployed or earns very little so in most cases in a modern society this cannot even be used.

I've never had problems with dating, and still have time to find someone to have children with, so if it doesn't work out, then I can find someone else. I'm serious, it is a red line for me. Someone being so desperate to make it a legal thing, even if they get the ring and ceremony and the house together and the children, makes me suspicious. I have money too, so it is something I need to be very careful about. If she'd do a prenup I'd think about it, but she'd react the same way to it which makes me think I'd rather just avoid it all together.

Yes I do. I would like to get married on a cliff overlooking the sea. I don't really have anyone to invite but if my wife wanted to, I guess it could work. We would decorate everything with our favorite flowers and then turn them into something pretty to be kept as a keepsake. It would be very cute to dress up in pretty clothes, especially if I could sew them with her. Then we would go back home and I would carry my wife into our home.

Just the thought of having a wedding frightens me. I'm not anti-natalist but I can't imagine raising a kid in this country in the current state it's in. To me, there is no point in getting married especially when it can end poorly. Too much risk, too much stress. It doesn't really seem worth it.
