Learning french is fucking impossible. The pronounciation makes no sense at all.

you're doing it wrong

the pronunciation is retarded but consistent and if you learn the rules you'll be able to figure it out all the time

How hard is going from being able to read to understanding spoken language? I need to learn how to read French for uni, but I can't be bothered to learn the entire language right now.

It's the easiest language to learn if you can speak english. You'll never pronounce it like a native no matter what you do, and you'll always sound off until you die, but you can easily learn to reach a level where people can understand you (but will ignore you because it's annoying to hear you pronounce words the wrong way).

Reading French is probably easy if you already master English, spoken I'm pretty sure it's gonna be tough.

French is consistent, you just need to learn how it sounds and it stays the same.
