Nurture/environment is important to a certain extent. If you grow up dirt poor and die at 4 from starvation your genes do not make a difference. If you grow up rich you’ll have more opportunities and paths to take in your life and be able to pick any career you want. Genetics is what determines your max potential. Even if you’re rich, you are not going to be an award winning physicist just for paying your way through a PhD. If you do not have the genetic intelligence, physicality, and will to do something then it is not achievable for you no matter the resources at your disposal.
