>>211877372 (OP)No. I feel like its has been declining and will continue to decline for another decade. Change feels impossible even though I am a bureaucrat within the system. Ministers cannot actually do anything because Tony Blair, using the Human Rights Act made the ECHR directly applicable in the UK so everything you do can be challenged by lawyers. This is in addition to the UK's long standing tradition of challenging government using judicial review. Over the last few decades, we also have Environmental legislation that means you have to make an environmental impact assessment for everything. There is now also a Public Sector equality duty for everything bureauvlcrats and ministers do.
And then I look at parliament - they are untalented and useless. None of the ministers I have ever had any contact with have been impressive. There is new talent.
The police will send 10 officers if you make a racist tweet but will not send anyone if your car is stolen.
I took a tab of LSD last month and took a bus ride through town and the LSD made me see all the dirt and graffiti and how violent the town centre was. It was disgusting.
I am very much not enjoying the country.
