Is it actually true that americans live paycheck to paycheck or is this just a propaganda made by anons on 4chan to dissuade foreigners from moving to America?

I've always had the impression America was a literal paradise where you could actually have a future by working for a few years and start seeing your living conditions improving over time

Depends. It's easymode if you do STEM shit. There are some occupations where you can make a good amount of money without a technical degree:
>longhaul truck driver
>oilfield guy

but these have various tradeoffs usually like retarded hours.

Then there's jobs that pay somewhat worse but suck less, e.g.
>mailman
>tradesman

which are somewhat hard to get for bureaucratic reasons (unions, apprenticeships).

Then there's the shit retard wagie jobs, which is most of them
>cashier
>goyslop producer
>grocery bagger

If you work jobs like that, you're living with roommates forever.

After taxes and Roth IRA and health insurance I take home $4,600 a month. Live in a busted trailer with no AC for $900 a month, got a shitty Honda Civic 2022 when my credit was still shit because it's new for $500 a month, internet and phone $180 a month, car insurance $280, personal loan $400 a month. Got student loans for $10k that haven't started yet idk how much it'll be once it starts, and $4k cred card debt, got two root canals I'm $369 a month for 6 months.
I hate it.

I know people that make $30k and own a house they saved up for during high school and know people that that live check to check making near $150k a year in a low cost of living area. I'm not saying rich people shouldn't be taxed more or something. But I am saying like half of people are literally bottomless pits in terms of desires.

i live paycheck to paycheck
each month i make $1,100. $620 goes toward my room, $30 toward my internet, $130 toward my electricity, $20 toward my water; $100 toward my cat, which is more than normal; $50 is towards food and litter, but the other $50 is spent on medicine -- he is old and i am attached to him it has so far kept him alive three years past when he was predicted to die. $160 i spend on my medical insurance, and $25 on my dental insurance, and $40 on medicine, and usually some $30 on things like soap and toilet paper. this would leave me at $85 in debt each month were it not for my very kind father, who supplements my income enough to keep me out of debt and pays for unexpected expenses i encounter like doctors' bills. the government of florida gives me $104 per month in food stamps, which can only be spent on food, which i stretch out by cooking everything myself, often entirely from scratch, using the ample spare time i have since i havent been able to get ahold of a full-time job since 2022

Be honest, do you even have a job? Your posts reads exactly what I'd expect a high schooler who's currently picking his major thinks the "real world" is like.
>It's easymode if you do STEM shit.
The STEM well has completely dried up and has been dead for over half a decade now. The memes about Indians exist for a reason. The major companies that were once the most lucrative and largest employers of STEM grads are now almost entirely using work visas and outsourcing everything else. Actual American citizens working STEM jobs are in the minority and shrinking every year.
>There are some occupations where you can make a good amount of money without a technical degree
>longhaul truck driver
>good money
lmao
Also they're hiring Indians to do this now too. Idk if it's as much of a problem in the US yet, but whenever I go up to Canada and stop at a rest station literally every truck driver I see walking out of the semi parking lot is an Indian.

>you could actually have a future by working for a few years and start seeing your living conditions improving over time

You can, provided you get a good job and live below your means. The problem is that a lot of people here think that a decent job should allow them to live like a member of the fucking landed gentry or something because TV told them so. Plus, it's insanely easy to get credit cards, car loans etc here, so it's easy to overextend yourself.

no, we can't. where did you get this idea?
perhaps if you used that entire paycheck, alloting nothing at all for, say, food, then you could buy the rusted burned-out husk of a car that you'd be lucky to be able to drive out of the dealer's lot. but, most states mandate that you have car insurance to be allowed to own a car at all, which is never less than $200 a month. yes, in order to even have the option to consider buying a car, we are expected to pay more in a month than a pinoy makes in a year
