I'm yet to find out why anybody would visit any Mediterranean country at all for a vacation. You want a safe comfy place with only old people around and nice architecture? Go to Central Europe. Japan is just as bad but I think the locals are too polite to say anything until it becomes unbearable, and then Japan will pull itself up to its full height of 160 centimeters and start banning tourists during certain seasons.

In my opinion, it should be a lottery system, and only a few countries' tourists allowed in on any given year.

Either that, or we should ban poor people, because the top 10% most wealthy visitors provide 90% of the income, and the bottom 90% only contributes 10% while shitting up the place.

Nonsense, place like Florence, Venice, Rome, Palermo, Bari, Matera, are nothing like northen europe. Also, seaside towns in south can be very pretty, the beaches are very nice. Combine that with local culture, food and so on, then you will realize why many like this place.

Spain is literally full of nice places to see but most tourists only know about Barcelona so that's where they go. I personally couldn't care less about this, the only thing I care about is the thousands of non european inmigrants.
