Wonderful summer so far, lots of rain, temperatures in the 22-26°C range and significantly cooler at night so nothing is heat soaked yet I pray for a proper winter with shitloads of snow this year

The idea of living in a southern European climate and not having access to air conditioning sounds like such a nightmare to me. I can't imagine having to head back to your apartment on a hot, sticky summer afternoon only for it to be just as hot and sticky inside and all you have to cool yourself down is opening the windows and as many fans as you can afford to run.
I once stayed a couple nights at a hostel in Cadiz and it was unbearable. There was no AC, no fans, and nothing but a single window that opened up into a tiny third story central lightwell that did absolutely nothing to regulate the stale air in the room. It had to have been at least 80 degrees inside, my bed was totally drenched in sweat after just a few minutes of trying to fall asleep. I eventually fave up and slept in a secluded corner of the stairwell.

Summer in Sweden arrives when the temperature is above 10 degrees Celsius for five days in a row. So summer usually arrive in early May.
The 21st is literally Midsummer. The name is a hint.

Kinda the same here probably. The central heating is turned off by the city only after 2 weeks with temperatures of 8C or above. So it was turned off in the second half of May this year.
