I don’t consider myself Islamophobic. There are aspects of the Ummah that I find unpleasant, but I dislike religion in general, and find all zealots similarly offensive. I don’t think the Muslims as a whole deserve to be singled out above all others as global villains, even if their fringe elements have seized a larger than the global average share of the terror market.

And my experiences among Muslims have more often than not been just fine. My barber is a Muslim. I have been treated very kindly in Pakistan, Indonesia, and Malaysia. I also had no problems in the UAE, but that place is a shithole for reasons independent of religion. Some of the things I like least in the Muslim world have more to do with local cultures than with the Prophet’s teachings.

So I guess that Muslims I have known have mostly left positive impressions, but my overall opinion of the faith remains neutral-to-negative at best.

The Quran teaches Muslims to lie to outsiders, break covenants with outsiders, and behead outsiders. The Talmud teaches similar things about outsiders. My perspective is such, while there are good ideas in Abrahamic religions, God as he exists in your books is evil.
