They're dumb and they smell. Back in middle school(?) there was this one somali guy who was really into Tupac and hiphop though. That was pretty funny.

I had a sort-of friend here for a while who was Somali-American; she was born in the States, but her father was some kind of senior bureaucrat who had to flee the country. Her mom was an ethnic Somali from Ethiopia who was supposedly some kind of minor royalty. My sort-of friend was a housewife married to a biotech executive, a Swiss guy of Italian descent.

So probably not your typical Somali. She was charismatic, startlingly full of herself, ambitious (she was starting, or trying to start, several businesses simultaneously when I met her, at least one of which finally got off the ground), and completely scatterbrained. She just moved to Malaysia.
