bear DLC is nice but i think Mercs is a lot better than Clans overall, even if it has a much lower budget
Clans mission design is all kinds of fucked
instead of stand-up fights, every mission is padded with trash fights against significantly weaker enemies that wear you down
and since Omnis carry their weapons in their most vulnerable parts (arms), usually by the time you get to the "real" fight, you're missing half your weapons
also since you don't loot fallen mechs, you don't need to pay attenttion to shot placement, you just go for the center torso each time
Mercs has that nice feeling of building up a ragtag merc band into a capable force with big shiny expensive assault mechs
