But think of all the GDP that could have been produced instead of the entire country enjoying a day off, which is worthless

This is what american workers want, deal with it. If there are too many holidays you're only one step removed from making the whole year one big holiday, and then what?

>Nooooo we NEED more paid holidays off (which are compensated for by having lower wages), we can't take unpaid days off (and still end up with more money because there's no need to pay a middle man bureaucrat) that's literally slavery! Think about the heckin muzzies we meed to make Eid a national holiday!

I get plenty of paid days off per year. I really donโ€™t care if coonteenth is a holiday or not. Not even observed by all states/companies

Spending your whole life slaving away for your corporate overlord and dying of a stress induced heart attack before retirement is what the founding fathers would have wanted though

literally what's happening in america, even one whole week is frowned upon because if the company can do without you for an entire week...what are you even good for?

For PTO my job gives:
>8 holidays
>4 floating holidays (use around holidays or for cultural/religious holidays)
>10 days sick pay
>10 days sick 50% pay
>up to 8 weeks vacation
You basically are given 6.5 hrs of vacation every two weeks and you want to use it before it maxes out. Iโ€™ve never had a PTO request denied, and if it is short notice situation I just put in sick days lol. I forget the exact structure but after 5 years I think it goes to 26 weeks 100% sick pay and after 15 years 52 weeks. The max vacation limit and accrual per pay period increases as well
