These days, pretty much all natural phenomena in the world have been explained by science, and yet Americans still keep going to church.
They desperately pray to a god that doesn't even exist.
Why can't they stop praying, even though there's nothing to be saved from?

It's kind of pathetic that in their time as a superpower, Americans have not managed to spread their religion much. This isn't the case for most former superpowers.

>pretty much all natural phenomena in the world have been explained by science,
Wrong. Science can’t explain what consciousness is or what creates it.

God doesn't exist.Wake up.
Christianity, and religion in general, is meaningless now.

Religion exists more than just to explain things. Atheism and scientific culture does not provide any of the other services religions do except for explaining the natural order of things. As far as morals, the afterlife, whether or not the wicked are punished, the intention of creation (if there is one) etc, science and atheism neither answer nor adress these yet every single religion (even ooga booga stuff and spaghetti paganism) does this

Yeah, you're rambling on, but the truth is, going to church won't change anything, and it won't save you. Seriously, stop believing in a stupid religion like Christianity. That's why disgusting cults like evangelicals are rampant in your country. Religion is "evil." Get that through your head first.

>led to the abolition of slavery, famous philosophers and civil rights activists like John locke, stopped roman warmongering
>is a literal how to guide to live a good life that promotes a supportive community to improve life
>eases the single biggest anxiety it is possible to have (death)
>actively frowns upon any and all offenses against others (war itself is unchristian)
>etc
And we're just talking about Christianity here. We could also talk about the Muslim technological and mathematical advancements, Jewish health and hygiene advancements, or even the fact your entire culture wouldn't be noteworthy if not for your nation's autistic take on spirits
Expand upon religion being evil.
I cannot see religion as a concept being ant more evil than science as a concept, it is due to science that things such as late 19th century imperialism, unit 731, Joseph Mengele's operations, the vast majority of nazi war crimes and even certain American war crimes happened. God didn't tell the Cia to abduct Americans and Canadians to try to mind control them.

Catholics believed in a determinist cause and effect material universe and often went against superstition except when it made them look wrong about something they had previously stated publicly. They tried to present themselves as reasonable scholars of reality.
