Le LED lights is a small part of Chinese cities. It's mostly endless apartment complexes in which every apartment is identical.

I think every you g male in the West just subconsciously realises that even if China is inferior to Japan (highest standard in the world), in the long run it's the only country with a good 21st century in store. No public LGBT (but lively underground scene), zero replacement migration against the Hàn, deeply sophisticated restaurant culture compared to pizzaburgerspaghettikebab West, healthcare just works, public transport goes everywhere all the time super fast for super cheap, the only real flaws are the traffic and the school/work culture which are only gonna improve. No English, which means no entry for the woke mind virus either.

i liked it, but it's an odd country. i never left the city so i don't have a balanced view. it functions very well, but you can tell it's a country that was 3rd world very recently.

some areas were beautiful, functional, very clean, high tech, like you see now on tiktok. but then you take a turn down the street and see buildings made from scrap metal full of rural migrant workers or 80s buildings that are already literally falling apart.
you come out of a western style coffee house playing smooth jazz and wait for a taxi, and a shoeless homeless lady literally dressed in rags tries to get you to buy a wild animal she caught in a cardboard box.
you use their uber alternative that arrives within 3 minutes, then your driver is speeding the whole time, driving over the pavement and narrowly missing pedestrians.
someone tells you of a fancy bar with a view of the skyscrapers, and it is a beautiful modern bar, but to get uo there you enter an unmarked dark building and get into a rusted gate elevator with a small gap in the floor that a child could fall through.

i don't say any of this to shit on china, it's a normal high end developing country and third worldisms are to be expected of a country that was dirt poor not long ago, it's certainly 1000x better than somewhere like india. but i don't think it's a futuristic utopia or a godforsaken dystopian hellhole. people can't view china nowadays without inserting their culture wars shit.
