Why is Thai food so popular? I never knew this until I traveled abroad. At first I thought my hosts were fucking with me when they asked if I wanted to go to a local Thai restaurant.

idk about white countries but in sweden thais were the first who opened asian restaurants so it became synonymous with asian food. nowadays ramen, chinese etc is probably more popular

I can’t name a single Philippino dish. Thai, sure. Vietnamese. Japanese. Chinese. Indian. Pakistani. Even Mongolian and Burmese. But not philipino. Why?
