Our regular salt is very finely ground-down and has iodine added to it. Kosher salt is unadulterated and has larger grains. Cooks prefer the latter

just use rock salt its the same thing
kosher salt is salt for koshering, not literal kosher salt, all salt is kosher

That looks too coarse. We have two main brands of kosher: Morton and Diamond Crystal. Morton is coarser and denser, but not as coarse as that.

Course we also got pink salt. I also bought black salt from an Indian supermarket. It smells like shit which is good sometimes.
