I don't think enough people appreciate the extent of the Iranian failure. You have to keep in mind that Iran fights Israel with a complex network of proxies that are officially autonomous but which are in practice coordinated by Tehran. Before October 7th 2023 many thought Israel would struggle against Hezbollah. Two years later the "Axis of Resistance" is in tatters and Israel has shown it can casually airstrike Tehran with a limited Iranian retaliation (missile strikes).
Even though the original plan seems to have been regime change, and that failed, Israel emerges as the Middle East most capable power.
