the only difficulty in these games is understanding the UI and it is entirely understandable that that shit might take you like 20 hours to actually get used to
people who say things like 'i have 700 hours in this game and i still don't understand it' must be actually genuinely mentally retarded

I can't get into Hearts of Iron 4. But it took me about 50 hours to really become decent at Crusader Kings 2. In my opinion Stellaris is the most accessible.
There's a meta to understand with each game, from then on it's not a walk in the park but it becomes clear and fun. You also don't play to win per se, rather to relax and have innocent fun.

The only one I can't be fucked learning is HoI4 because of army templates and vehicle designer and it feels like there's a million modifiers you need to be aware of in order to move a frontline.
With eu4 it's just infantry = artillery = combat width + 4 horses

Most of the game mechanics can be ignored.
Like my example of Vic 2 pops, i enjoy trying to give them access to all their needs, but it's almost irrelevant to the actual game.
You can just pick germany, form Grossgermaniums, max tariffs and paint the map.

Nope, my interest level for eu5 is at zero. I'm not really a fan of eu4 and knowing paradox and how they always release their games as hollow as possible so they can crank out those DLCs, I'm gonna wait a bit. I do like how they included the pop mechanic from Imperator Rome into the game.

Depends on the game. They genuinely have good enough controls to be some of the best RTS around, but you have to first become aware of the hotkeys and their uses, then tinker with message settings after learning most/all of the mechanics.

That's the best part. I love constructining and watch the pop and income number increase. You can try going to war and colonizing. The order depends on what Im playing as or what my gameplan is and of course mana generation. If i wanna go colonial then I do them first ofc.
When I was more of a noob i liked humanist because it basically eliminates rebellions.
Certain government types also give good ideas like divine or horde ideas .

Espionage can be useful too, that -20% AE is great and you can claim states. Sometimes I take Espionage only temporarily and take the first two ideas (until -20% AE reduction) if I have some big blobbing to do.
