These stereotypes come from the other parts of Europe. To the south, northerners are cold, to the north, southerners are warm. It's just an exaggeration and it's all a matter of perspective

You see this with how Europe sees Spain as sexo land where everybody is warm and friendly, but to Matin Americans Spain is cold and unwelcoming
