The Crimean War, the Great Game, the British Empire in general buckbroke Russians to a degree that I don't think is often appreciated.

While most of Western Europe would laugh at the idea of Britain being some all-powerful superpower today, in Russia it's not at all uncommon to see Britain/England being mentioned right next to the USA when a Russian nationalist goes on a schizobabble rant, part of the great "Anglo-Saxon boogeyman".

A truly bizarre situation.

It goes both ways actually. Russia and England share a seething hatred for each other for fuck knows what reason at this point even more so than us belters. Churchill even wanted to nuke Moscow in the 50's

For two months of 1941, Britain fought alone. Pre-Barbarossa, Pre-Pearl Harbor, everyone else in the world was either sided with the axis or neutral.

But of course the British won the battle of Britain single-handedly, destroying more luftwaffe planes in the process than were destroyed in Stalingrad and Kursk combined, and won the battle of the Atlantic, even though the Russians were helping the Nazis circumvent the blockade at that point lol

1400 German aircraft were lost in Kursk + Stalingrad and 2000 were lost in Britain.

The germans were diverting air flotillas away from the eastern front to fight the RAF. They could shoot down anything the soviets threw at them.

This is also not accounting for the fact that Kursk and Stalingrad came second, and that the Anglo-Americans were bombing German factories by that time

The historians I read gave the numbers as 900 Luftwaffe shot down during Stalingrad and 500 during Kursk. I believed it because they were land battles and Britain was aerial and naval.

The point I was making was not even competition between the RAF and the Soviets. I wasn't saying one was better than the other.
I was saying the British destroyed the Germans so thoroughly in the air and the sea that it decided the war before the eastern front began.
Germany had no capacity to prevent British bombing and the British had ample resources from the colonies to bomb away to their hearts desire

Why are you sperging out, can't you read the thread? My point was that Russia did not save Britain in any way. The result of the western front was that Germany had no way to resist British bombing. The RAF was free to bomb every single German city to dust no matter how the eastern front proceeded.

nah, the aircraft losses on the eastern front were actually close, they had like a hundred aces but rank and file fighter pilots got downed at about same rate as soviets or even faster sometimes
the battle of shitstain is a tiny bit, if german command didnt plan to send tens of thousands aircraft to the east they would've continued on with annihilating raf
