I'm from Novi Sad and I came to Belgrade a dozen times. Although city is huge to me (relatively) I never had problem going from A to B. I open google maps and get shown bus lines, each bus comes quickly and transport is practically free (heard it will become free too). In Belgrade I traverse three times as quick than I do in my city for the same distance. I think there's bottlenecks but if you're inside the city they concern you less.

In reality it all depends on who you ask. A *lot* of ultranats are protesting because as I said, it's a well known fact here that we supply 20% of Ukraine's artillery shells. On the other hand pro EU people decided to stop fucking over protests out of spite when they're not in the limelight, and rallied behind ultranats too. I think it's pretty easy to understand that, to come to power, SNS played a two pronged strategy. Technically three if you include demoralisation and voter suppression. But the first prong is absorbing a huge chunk of DS and running on a so called legalist, self admittedly pro European platform. The second is absorbing basically all previously Radical, DSS and SPO cadre and having them run a pro Russian campaign in locales where they have been previously successful. This worked marvelously because big tent movements don't need to be ideologically consistent, the term "spin dictatorship" exists for a reason after all. Throwing them all into one camp, either EU or Russia, seems reductive at best and malicious at worst. In the case of leftists like you it's because you like to paint narratives and revise history in your favour obsessively. Russia has almost zero geopolitical influence in the Balkans btw. Popular support, sure, but ZERO kompromat on the institutions.
