What conquerors are you referring to?
I can name which cities which of my ancestors helped establish, upon which river which of my ancestors was the first white man to travel, on which city one of my ancestors was for many years the only physician and missionary available, which province was governed by which brother of which of my ancestors, which other brother of another of my ancestors gained which honorary title for his noble performance on which war, which then largely unknown but now very famous industry my Italian great-grandfather helped created through a machine he himself invented and patented etc.
I can give you their full names as well as those of their parents and children, and the year and place of their birth and death. Many streets in my city carry the name of my ancestors, as well as other cities they helped build.
No Portuguese person, unless they have Brazilian ancestry, can name any of that.
They descend mostly from peasants. It is what it is. Brazilians -- if they're Brazilians of at least some significant European and specially Portuguese ancestry, and specially from the middle and upper classes -- are the direct descendants of the peasants' brothers who decided to get out of Portugal and explore and conquer the New World.
