Correct, democracies cannot compete with totalitarian dictatorships. Dictatorships can kill people who dont conform while democracies must take care of every viewpoint. And these viewpoints can easily be influenced emotionally by state actors with the internet.
Its ironic since the internet was built to destabilize dictatorships through free flow of information but it backfired.
