To me, it is >>212328746 combined with population density. I've been to thirdie countries and very poor places but the small towns I wouldn't call shitholes, they were actually very nice and pleasant. In shitholes you are always having your senses assaulted, ugly buildings, horrible smells, noise pollution, air pollution, dodging cars

True. High population density is proper shithole shithole stuff. Combine that with the fact that people from shitholes generally have awful manners and hygiene, so not only are these places crowded but they are also filthy and loud. Watching any video of a guy walking through a street in India makes me feel instantly depressed.
