so when someone says millenial, it could be any of like five fucking different definitions
STOP fucking using these bullshit generation terms

Of course not. You millenials voted for unlimited immigration of 20-45 year olds and now wonder why you can't find jobs or houses anymore.

It’s just greed plain and simple, taking a fresh stem graduate for example, it still takes them 4-6 months of basically being hand held by a senior engineer to be able to build anything of note

The older business people expect senior level skills from fresh grads and everyone is miserable

probably should be interpreted as the entry level position *at our company*, not entry level relative to the whole job market
an entry level position at microsoft being very different from an entry level position at a smaller firm

It’s give and take, you can’t hire a fresh dev for example, give them $3k a month, and expect them to swing the entire system architecture, experiment with frameworks, and lead half the sprints, which is what people expect

still is, its called trainee or apprentice or just the errand and and coffe bitch at a company. entry level is a level or two above that.
>commercial pilot, entry level
your attitude is you can get this job and start flying international just having passed theoretichal exam. what it actually means is they will hire someone with previous experience in flying but it will be on the lowest aka entry level in their company. a second pilot on the shit routes no others want to fly.

Because those type of job postings are just ones companies put up to appear like they do external hiring but in reality already have an internal candidate prepared or are doing a "network"/nepo hire.

You socialize with your classmates and a few years down the line you look for an opening in a company where one of your classmates works. Or when you're in your first year you make an effort to get to know people who are about to graduate and then by the time you graduate you already have connections. Yes it sucks it's hard but that's how you're expected to do things. I only wish I realized that instead of naively thinking a degree is my ticket to an entry level job

in 2017 when I got my first "real job" it was a junior position with a salary that was almost 100% of the "national mathematical average" which in Poland is grossly overestimated due to how they count it.

I had no job experience, no education (droped out of uni in an unrelated field) and not even a single online course about it.
The job description literally said "looking for enthusiasts".

If I was looking for a job right now with my job qualifications from 8 years ago my ass would be unemployed.

Capitalists doomed us all.

keep on applying for jobs above your skill level and see who's out of touch with reality. its literally the whole topic in a nutshell, expectations and reality doesnt line up, they are out of touch. jobs hiring are the reality, suckers applying for the jobs have the expectations.
