I still think it's weird I've yet to see any documentary about that town in Canada that got absolutely annihillated with 50 degree weather and it all burned down a couple of years back

No, you're right. It bottomed out at -10C/15F this January and then it was 39C/103F last week.

Pretty much all of Eastern Canada is like this (except maybe for Newfoundland which doesn't get that hot I believe).

Continental humid climates are nightmare-tier. The only positive is that at least we have great seasonal variety.
