Had a xiaomi and I really enjoyed the IR blaster functionality. MIUI was kinds dogshit asshole though and I maintain that opinion even tho I disabled all adds and chinkware the moment I got the phone. The phone lasted for a good 4 years now I have a motorola g 100. I used to be my father's and it's been going for 6 years I think. I'm hoping it can last some years more and then I think I will buy another motorola

I spent like 200 USD on my current xiaomi phone and there's nothing I feel I'm missing out when compared to the 800+ USD high end phones out there, there's really no need to spend that much for a device you mainly use for messaging, social media and maybe some casual gaming. I have 512 GB so I can even watch movies in this thing.

You can buy a €150 Canon EOS 600D and it will wreck any phone in quality. I got one I got refurbished last year. Got a basic EF-S 18-55 IS II lens with it and it takes great photos.

I just got whatever my carrier had on offer when I renewed my contract and that was a Pixel 9 Pro XL. Had a Galaxy S21 Ultra before that and before that I had a Sony. And so on.
