I have read many persons of Muslim race (specially arabs and moors) and they inherently are of the opinion that Turkish era was a Dark Age for the Ummah, or that it was a Golden Age (pakis and indonesians specially say this).

Arabs hate the Ottomans because they consider us to be too western and not real muslims. They started so many revolts after the Tanzimat reforms when the Ottomans said people will wear fez and pants instead of thawb and called the sultan/caliph a kuffar because of it. they paid cizye (jizya) tax which was the equivelent of zekat the muslims gave to the poor and in need

Parts of South and Southeast Asia were supported a lot by the Ottomans, I believe.
That's why the Acehnese flag is basically the Ottoman/Turkish flag today.

Arabs are mad because Turks usurped them multiple times (don't let your slaves also be your military btw) and then claimed the Caliphate.

Non-Arabs don't care and see them as the last caliphs. Thanks to Erdog, Pakistanis also see Turkey as a shining example as to how to stop being a shithole without completely abandoning their identity.

It really depends on who you’re asking about the Ottomans. A lot of Lebanese aren’t fans because of tough times under Ottoman rule like the brutal 1915-1916 Mount Lebanon famine that starved thousands due to wartime blockades and bad management. I think there was a similar case in Egypt.
Over in Saudi Arabia, there’s bad blood too, thanks to the 19th-century clashes where the Ottomans tried to keep the Saudi family from rising up and taking charge of the Arabian Peninsula.
Many Palestinians like me hold a positive view of the Ottomans because Palestine was peaceful during Ottoman control.

I believe Levantines are a separate group from Arabs who live on the Arabian Peninsula. The Ottomans categorized Levantines as "Syrians." Arab nationalism was created primarily due to a shared language, not a shared culture or ethnicity.
