it's the most difficult spoken asiatic language. It's very agglutinative (most words aren't spoken plainly in their base form but are combinations of base word + morpheme + morpheme). Japanese does the same thing but is much simpler and more consistent and easier to parse. Mandarin is totally analytic and doesn't do this at all.

e.g
먹었겠네요
is 먹 'mok' shortened from 'mokda' (to eat) + 3 additional morphemes 었(past tense) + 겠(probably did) +네(realization) +요(politeness). and the sound of the morphemes change depending on the word/other morphemes they're attached to.

In German you can just spam memorize a bunch of words and you'll understand a lot of conversation, in korean even if you memorize thousands of words it can still be really hard to understand anything.

after years reading intermittently about linguistics and phonetics ive come to the conclusion that...

we do this shit unconsciously when imitating speeches in our tl kek

genuinely dont worry about it. i like to read about it because im a seething autist but i know not to focus solely on it, if you go all "so it seems ive found the ultimate pronunciation..." you will just achieve brainworms and clumsiness when trying to speak your tl

Anyone interested in shadowing and/or using Assimil should check out his first video.
