yeah if you have $300k a year here you are still considered upper middle class, very wealthy but few would say "rich"
However it is on a path to become rich, if you invest money you will pass $400k income quickly. There is a gap between people earning $100k-$200k and the next level, because even at $200k you may not be able to invest much if you are in a high cost of living area.

Comparing in dollar terms misses the truth.
The worst period for the Japanese economy was 2000-2005. Since 2010, it has become easier to live in every year.
Thanks Abe!

Are you a member of the Unification Church? The majority of Japanese people know that Abe has destroyed the Japanese economy and the value of the Japanese Yen.

It has not risen at all in dollar terms, and Japan has recently been overtaken in GDP by Germany and India. And soon it will be overtaken in GDP by the UK, which has half the population.

We don't measure by annual income. If you earn $500 above monthly you are considered wealthy and part of the top 5%.

It's commumists' propaganda.
Abe supported anti-communism activity in South Korea.
One of them was related with the Korean cult.

Symbolic sum here is 6 figure salary, but really you can only start calling yourself filthy rich after 200k.
Most will earn between 70 and 140k through their career.

We don't have rich people. You're either on welfare, middle class or slighly higher middle class.

"Rich" is a descriptor of wealth, not income.
