Why do people throw a temper tantrum when Indians eat food with their hands. EVERY OTHER RACE does this.

I don’t care if someone eats with their hands that much, even in my own country, but what I hate is how the food residue remains on their hands and they touch everything else after eating. Nobody seems to be capable of washing their hands properly and are happy to let oils or grease just stay on their hands, and then they’ll touch everything else around them. They don’t even register the sensation of it remaining there. It’s disgusting.

Because other ethnicities try to use some sort of dry food as an edible container to deliver wetter foods. There's an implicit recognition that a wet, maybe even liquid food is more likely to pick up dirt and pathogens from the hands.

Other people use their hands as chopsticks or a fork; Indians use their hands as a soup spoon.

These foods are suitable for eating with hands, rice is not so much.
Sticky rice on your hands looks and feels gross, onigiri is wrapped in seaweed to avoid that, for example.

You know that's not the true answer. You know Indians didn't wash their hands with soap 100 or 200 or however many years ago when they developed the tradition of scooping slop with their fingers.
You know that most other cultures, aside from Africans, Papuans and Aborigines, developed dry wraps of some kind to contain the food they would eat.
But even if you didn't know that you also know that Indians don't wash their hands today.

What you really don't know is that washing your hands isn't an excuse to put your fingers in everything.
If you go to a public eating space to eat with your hands, and have gone to a public bathroom to wash your hands you will have touched the door of that public bathroom after leaving it.

I like how countries that barely grow rice and eats them in the first place are trying to police people that has rice as their stale foods for milennia
