Can I seriously request a refund from having learned French? I expected to use it to talk with elegant Frenchmen but like 70% of people in France my age are nafris or blacks, and even the white ones are thrown into colère if I accidentally omit a syllable for a word with formerly aspirated H or do an accidental incorrect liaison, or don't know the birthplace and life of random revolutionaries from their village. Lithuanian is so much better, as the demographic is entirely white and much closer to Norwegians

Most Frenchies where I live are white and they don't speak elegantly so I have trouble understanding them when they speak since they don't pronounce it quite how you learn it in textbooks and on Youtube so I just perpetually struggle.

But yeah, French's reputation as a "fancy language" only comes from the fact that for a long time it was a language only spoken by the educated elite and such it was shaped by that and of course as time goes on and it's a language spoken by everyone it evolves into something less fancy and less refined.

Also a lot of immigrants speak pretty clear French since they often speak it textbook style.
