No, you get the initial ER bill once you're out of the ER, the ICU bill when you're out of the ICU and the final final bill once you exit the building. The Ambulance company that brought you there and the Uber that takes you away charge separately.

and obviously this is because the ER is run by a different contractor than the ICU who is separate from the main hospital. Pay more get more. Premium ICU care will have the doctor review your shit in person bedside and not zoom it to a jeet. Unfortunately I live in a communist shithole (california) that requires such consultations be made by someone physically present within california and licensed to practice healthcare within california, so my healthcare options are suppressed by the government and artificially expensive vs a free state like Nevada, Arizona, Texas or any part of Mexico.

When Canadians get this they just flash their ID and it's billed to Canada.

If you want a diversity, equality and inclusion hospital go use the catholic hospital with all the illegals or the public hospital with all the black people. Personally, I want my doctors to be white and I want everyone else to be behaved. I pay more to get away from dirty people like upgrading to a private room, access to a smoke lounge or the catering menu. I don't care where my MRI is done or who reads it just that I get it on time on a level I can afford. Insurance only covers expenses above $3,000 by which point I'm totally fucked and bankrupt anyway.
