This is nothing compared to WW2 losses, which USSR recovered from pretty fast.
If Russia wins, even with 2 or 3 million dead and wounded, it would still be worth it. Ukraine reclaimed, sphere of influence reestabilished, Russia a great power again with political, military and economic benefits of such status.
But if they lose, it could have catastrophic consequences (especially for the ruling elite) which is why they're doubling down on the war and why the hope for a truce/ceasefire is delusional.
