If the US had actually any intention of meddling in BR politics it would finance separatist movements or the monarchy, like it does in Iran (a country it actually meddles in, unlike Brazil). Unfortunately it doesn't.

Brazil has been tarifing US products to death since forever. Back when the real was worth something (2010) I used to buy a lot of US stuff from Amazon (which didn't exist in Shitzil) and it was always a pain in the ass trying to avoid the import taxes. Not to mention you often had to wait months for the product to arrive, as it would spend entire weeks stuck in Curitiba, endlessly, for no real reason. They did everything they could to prevent you from buying foreign products.
