idk of anyone who watched it
I watched Cartoon Network a lot, but Avatar had nothing going for it to interest me, even though I was technically the right target audience age at the time

It's a no brainer a westerner will relate more to a western show than to an eastern one. Anime is aimed for japanese people and and east asia to some extent.
That's why weebs relate more to anime, because they're social pariahs in their own country.

I think avatar legend of aang is overated af and only season 3 is good, I prefer Korra, season 1 and 3 are good. Please don't kill me.

The only part I dislike about Korra is the romance, and season 2 and 4 villains are kinda weak. But I hate as important fight in Aang is a Deus ex machina, he wins all important fights on auto pilot

Yes, it's my favorite show of all time. I loved it as a kid, as a teen, and now as an adult.
My dad likes it too, and many of my friends

Agreed. The fights in avatar usually weren't that good especially if aang when into the avatar state. Like youd think for the final fight with ozai that it would have at least been an interesting even match between the two even in his avatar state but no. He stomps him like he does anything else. Even though I liked Korra way less she does get humbled constantly. It has a lot of problems but her being a Mary sue definitely isn't one.

I disliked the aesthetic and the themes of the series.
ATLA had a sense of urgency. Aang was trapped in ice for 100 years and he had only one year to fix the world or else everything would be doomed, plus he was basically thrown into a hostile world
With Korra it was the opposite and she was in a very supportive environment in general. Besides too much tech

It suffered too much at times from being a kids show, like they couldn't depict death at all and as a whole it struggled a lot in creating stakes, also due to its largely episodic nature it suffered from being constrained to the 22 minutes runtime so the plot of a lot of episodes felt rushed and their resolution unsatisfactory
on the other hand the characters were likable and the humor was good (unlike anime lol)

it explores separating the internalized expectations of others from your own native desires, and the balance between liberty and duty, as well as delivering moral messages for its young target-audience that are more complicated than other contemporary programs (other shows taught the virtue of being kind or sharing or being safe, avatar taught the virtues of patience or self-forgiveness or responsible use of power)
it is not so very deep though outside of a few moments
>>212600713
korra's animation is vastly inferior to a:tla's. and being that we are dealing with an audiovisual medium and not just a book, this does matter
>>212600713
Korra is a waste of the setting.
Season 3 was kino but then season 4 is a bore with Korra's constant whinning and what's her face nonsense plan.

Yes, though I had no access to nickelodeon so I watched in in 4 different waves across several years as it was coming out. It was an amazing show yet it would lapse in and out of my life so suddenly that I would just forget it existed for a year before it came around again.

I think korra took a lot of steps it had no business in making, but overall I think the show was worthwhile. It just wasn't a well planned out show overall. The writing was kind of weak and the logic didn't hold which I imagine was the result of the show being stretched into 4 seasons when it was never meant to be, I assume. Season 1 ends so abruptly I can't think anything else could have been the case.

Dude same, except for me it was season 2. So much scary shit happened in that season that raised my little 8 year old heart rate.
Particularly Aang nearly dying from Azula's lightning bolt. I believe that was the first time I had seen a main character brutally struck down in any media. I know you guys all simp for Azula but she scared me as a kid, she's a great villain.
