The United States has funded and shaped virtually all elements of Korean society since the Korean War. That's why Korea is crumbling at an accelerated pace compared to the rest of the west. It's an artificial implant of western culture that was forced upon the Korean population and this is the end result.
Koreans have become insanely individualistic and derive all their pleasure from consumption and personal pleasure. They don't need or desire relationships or sex anymore, they'd rather spend their time and money on themselves. The male and female population have become more divided than ever, not because of social issue but because of the market. Women only care about things that are advertised to women, like clothes. Men only care about things that are advertised to men, like video games. Men and women in Korea are effectively to separate species now, each living in their own bubble of consumerism.
