90% of the plastic surgery is the double eyelid surgery. it's very simple procedure so it's not considered plastic surgery in korea. If that gets included, yes korea is plastic country. if not, it's exaggerated. the jaw surgery is very rare.

but it a humans impression is the most represented by the Eye, so it is indeed plastic surgery that is life altering. Therefore I think it's fair that korea gets the reputation of being plastic.

Korea has the reputation due to many Japanese and Chinese nationalists types who throw around broad lies to defame Korea out of jealousy/envy.

The truth is Korea performs a lot of procedures each year because they cater to foreign visitors who want to go to Korea for plastic surgery because Korea has the best doctors, equipment, and techniques you can't get anywhere else--all at a lower price than most developed nations.

You can look at what happened to Korea's plastic surgery industry during the COVID lock down, its nearly collapsed. It got so bad that the Korean government had to start issuing no contest visa's for anyone seeking plastic surgery where as before it was more difficult to get.
