I lived most of my life in Soviet cities. Unfortunately, they don't look great at a closer look.

Depends what you're comparing it to. I've found it by far to walk or use public transit there compared to the US.

Again, depends what you're comparing it to. After moving to America (California, then Florida) I learned to appreciate the housing in Russia. It was actually more comfortable, sound proof, and insulated than here in the same price category. The biggest problem is krushevkas are ugly as hell.

Dunaújváros (between 51 and 61: Sztálinváros (Stalincity basically)) predated the commie block era and was initially built up in a socialist realism style. I think it has a lot of architectural value and would look pretty nice if it got a touched up.

The other city (Tiszaújváros) is basically just commie-blocks and single family homes. It is in one of the poorest counties in the country but within that it is not a bad place to live. I'm going to dump a few pictures of the former

I was also curious how it feels now. In Russia, commieblocks are poorly maintained and look terrible. But in East Germany, for example, they look fine. Wonder what it's like in Hungary. The video you posted looks really nice.

I have no problem returning to Russia, but it's run by Russians and therefore unsuitable for human habitation. I will only go back if bananaking is killed, all Russians replaced by something else, and the resulting state is both occupied by the UN and disarmed from nuclear weapons. Russia doesn't deserve to exist. I hope Selensky nukes Moscow and wish final, complete and total victory to all Ukrainian brothers.

But other than that Russia is an ok place to live.
