Yes, although Ukrainians and Russians or Belarussians are still even closer culturally. Polish is probably the 3nd easiest language to learn for Ukrainians, with the 1s being Belarusian and the 2nd being Russian itself. Poland is extremely religious and ultra-nationalist though, Ukraine inched closer to this pathetic abomination of a culture in 2014 and even closer to 2022. The Ukraine I grew up and the one I remember was fairly liberal and liked both Poles and Russians, although it's not the case today, of course.
