If you're coming here as an expat, just enroll your kid in an international school. Many rich Malaysian families do that since the quality of education tends to be better (less rote memory in assessments) and more importantly, gives their kids networking opportunities.

Japan and Japanese culture is viewed favorably in Malaysia and there's a sizeable Chinese minority here so being yellow-skinned isn't a rarity either. The important thing is whether your kid can adapt to the local culture.
