Paternity tests are mandatory at the discretion of the prospective father if you aren't married. That is one reason, I suppose.

The law says that husband and wife shall be faithful to one another (1 kap. 2 § ÄktB). An implication of this is the presumption that children born to the wife are fathered by her husband. So there there are no legal grounds to mandate paternity tests without the husband filing a lawsuit challenging the chastity of his wife. But if they ate unmarried, there is no legal hindrance to doing so.

So why don't husbands just file a lawsuit. A relationship has to be pretty dire for paternity tests to even be on the table.

Less than 50% of couples get married here and most of them are over 50 in age.
And more than 50% of those marriages end in divorce.

Basically, marriage is a boomer/white trash thing here.
Most people just use the Sambo law for the same benefits without the downsides.

Yeah it's pretty good.
When me and my sambo split up in 2018 (we had been together six years) we just sold our apartment and split the money 50/50 and moved apart. No drama, no court or bullshit.
Same with our kid, we got 50/50 custody. Two weeks with her, two weeks with me.

We have a similar legal concept like this but it only has the divorce rape downsides of marriage and none of the benefits, it's called "stable union"

maybe in the movies but reality is the opposite , women hold so much power is actually scary. this is one major reason why italians as race are dying out, men are afraid to have a kid since if the woman decides to leave you(even if not married) you lose everything even stuff you inherited from you parents.
