Why aren't there unmanned helicopters? Seems like an obvious thing to develop because there's loads of unmanned planes and smaller drones

Presumably it could be more useful too because you don't need to carry around the stuff to support pilots so you could carry more missiles or fuel or whatever

An Apache is 23000-28000 lbs. Adding 400 of human to do what 200 lbs of computers, pneumatics etc taking away latency and etc...

If the human is a problem use a drone. There are mission sets where you want those pilots up there for a reason it's partially why we hate autoloaders on tanks. People can do a lot of things

Take off, landing, reacting to gusts of wind and low altitude flight would be problematic especially at sea. An unmanned ground based ground attack helicopter would be a waste of money, it couldn't do anything a glide bomb or a drone swarm does at 1000x the cost and an unmanned transport only drone is the world's most expensive flying crypt.
