Its extremely overrated and expensive as fuck. I remember when we were children and we'd go to Hvar on school trips we hated it because it was so boring. Mind you this was the era before mass tourism. Somehow it got memed into being a destination when there are much better sights to see in coastal Croatia.

I thought I missed having sandy beaches until I tried one on Rab - nah normal stony beach is better and much healthier for your feet to walk on some rocks. I can't stand having sand particles go everywhere between my toes. Concrete beaches suck though. Slovenians love pouring their concrete around Istria and turning it into a hellish landscape which is extremely thirdie behavior and you have no right to talk shit about others.

only in passing. i've driven to spain a with some friends a couple of times and of course croatia is on my path. although we did stop to eat in zagreb one time.
