In Brazil, some kids go to school just to eat, while in USA the kids have to pay for lunch.
Let that sink in.

Low income parents can sign up for a program that provide free lunch, that said the food wasn't that good and the people who only attended during lunch only came to talk to their friends

they are not that special when you see them for real. I did spend a notable amount of my time secretly looking at girls' legs, but most of them had ugly faces so the fun was decimated.
and starting from highschool, boys and girls had separate classrooms within the same school. I was quiet and inert so I didn't even see girls most of the time.

I hate that school used to have some great food like chocolate mousse and hotdogs on Fridays, but they stopped doing it sometime like 10 years ago because of health concerns.

Yeah, school lunches are free in brazilian schools. You could have just googled to check, but whatever.

I was making a reference to the 'no free lunch' adage or I guess principle from economics. I thought it was fitting and mostly joking around because this thread was about lunches that are supposedly free.

Also, there are areas of the US where students get free lunches. You could've googled that but whatever.

I thought so. But since it wasn't obvious, I decided to reply anyway.

I thought so too. But you do have to pay in some areas, whereas in Brazil, most — if not all — schools have free lunch.
