They also change shit to make it appeal to US tastes. In the US film Kevin Hart is a deadbeat dad while Omar Sy is the eldest (adopted) son. In the US film the paralyzed guy ends up going out with his secretary and not the woman he's been having a correspondence with. In the French film the secretary is a lesbian and you find out at the end after Omar Sy spent the whole movie hitting on her. In the US remake Kevin Hart doesn't get along with the secretary and has no romantic interest in her (seems you can't have a heart-warming movie in the US if there's sinful stuff like the mere mention of interracial mixing).
