There wasnt such a thing as "Hinduism" before the British arrived in India. They would group themselves into smaller groups such as Saivism, Vaishnavism, Shaktism, Buddhism, Jainism, Gowmaram, Ganapatyam with millions of tribal gods with their own tradition.
So the modern conception of Hinduism as a coherent overarching religion is completely British and not native to India at all

there's massive wealth inequality in the country, and majority of the people are poor
there's also bickering over reservations and such because the general population is just so damn stupid and there's also too many people and very few resources (like college seats, jobs) which often creates enmity between different hindu subgroups
this country has an even worse version of "asian parenting" culture that ensures most kids are thrown into engineering-medical rat races and have very little career options, hence, the mass-scale emigration to the west
